Yesterday morning I made the cafe au lait, I’ve been wanting to because after spending so much money at….
…everytime I got to work, well I’m just not having it.
I must say there is something about the way things taste when you make something daring (it’s not THAT daring) on your own….AWFUL!!! No seriously though, it tasted great, it’s a feel good drink because well I made it, I’m frugal, I’m creative, and I’m amazing.
My poor directions and a summarized caption for every pic…ENJOY!
1. Filled my water heater up w/1 cup of water.
2. Filled my press with 1 tbsp.
3. Poured the water in cup to put in press..I was picky about the measurements because of my thermos.
4. Mixed the water and let it sit for 3 min.
5. 1 cup of soy to prepare for steaming.
6. Steamed soy, no more than 155 degrees.
7. Added vanilla extract to cafe au lait, getting in the habit of Portola’s non artificial and all natural policy.
8. VOILA! Cafe au lait w/ soy & natural vanilla!!!
9. …now off to work
(Please note double pressed is the original way to do it + it tastes better, but I did not have enough time)
Projects in the making
1. Making my own cafe au lait…with soy milk (no reg.), half a pump of vanilla…trying no artificial flavors, so extract, perhaps??
2. Making my own facial moisturizer…using some egg yolks, extra virgin oil, and grape seed oil- let’s see how that goes
3. Making my own yogurt…this one is a bit on hold
Projects on their way:
1. My own sun dried tomatoes
2. Dog house for Bruce, with shelves for pictures of us, and an area to switch out fans to heaters.
Previous history of projects:
1. Making my own mozzarella- succesful!..more of a summer time thing.
2. Making my own gift wrap- seriously successful, and still continue.
3. Making my own bathroom organizers from cracker and pasta boxes..and jars.
4. Shall I continue???
Life is hectic and stressful at times, but sooooooooo worth it:)
….and the Golden Retriever I’m dog sitting is eating Bruce’s porcelain dog feeder, so there you go:)
